Grandma Dee's rolling pin & Kale Calzones
I made
Kale Calzones (recipe in the Victory Garden and Moosewood ckbks) last
night because my sweet daughter Deborah & her friend Billy stopped
in on their way back from a visit in Jacksonville. This morning I was
washing the rolling pin I used to roll out the pizza dough I used. The
hefty, wooden rolling pin was my Grandma Dee's. Both she and my Grandma
Taylor were great cooks. I would like to think that I got some of my
"cooking genes" from both of them. Rumor has it that their mothers were
good cooks as well. On the other hand, the more you practice at
anything, even cooking, the better you get. Now I just have to get
faster at washing the dishes! Heaven knows, I have practiced that
enough!
